Governor Nikki Haley and Attorney General Alan Wilson were the keynote speakers at theGeneral Federated Women’s Clubs of SC Convention held last weekend in Columbia. The governor’s remarks highlighted progress in the SC economy, which now ranksas one of the fasting growing in the US; Wilson informed the group about “human trafficking,” growing gang violence, and internet safety.

Jim Williams, Neilia Williams, Jim Stone, and Tim Callahan were visiting guests. A plaque was given to Sherry in appreciation for our hard work to make this year’s Toys for Tots a success in the Walhalla area. He gave us many compliments and spoke of fine tuning the event for next year and seeking out those who need help.

Walhalla Woman's Club members have compiled and published a follow-up edition to their highly successful cookbook: A Taste of Walhalla.
A Second Taste of Walhalla was published in October of 2012 with new recipes, including many recipes that incorporate fashionable ingredients and up-to-date cooking methods.
Cookbooks can be purchased for $15 from any member or by sending a request to Walhalla Woman's Club, PO Box 496, Walhalla, SC 29691.

The Walhalla Woman's Club was privileged to partner with the Marines this year in their Toys for Tots toys collection. Members helped identify well deserving families and the Marines placed collection boxes in local businesses. With the assistance of the Marines, we packaged toys according to age and gender and transferred them to our distribution location. The Walhalla Woman's Club donated funds to puchase items used to decorate the Walhalla Chamber of Commerce for the Christmas Tour of Homes. 8 members also enjoyed a decorating party to help get the Earle House beautiful for the Christmas season. Sponsored by the Walhalla Pilot Club and Walhalla Civic Auditorium., there were approximately 70 people that came through the Earle House to enjoy the decor.
